Crazy Birds birthday card and unboxing my new Big Shot!

Hi Guys!

As promised the card I was going to make with my cute little birds.
The stamps are from Stampers Anonymous by Tim Holtz called Crazy Birds and Crazy Things.
I've colored them with the following Copic markers:
G02, G03, G05, G07
R32, R35, R37, R39
Y23, Y26, Y28
BG0000, BG01, BG02, BG05, BG07, BG09
YR0000, YR00, YR01, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09
Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
C00, C-1, C-3.

I made my card base out of craft card stock measuring 30x15cm (approximately 12"x6") and folded it in half making a square card. After that I made 2 random vertical lines on the front of the card. Between this lines I positioned my die that I wanted to use and lined up the clear plates to make sure it was only cut between the pencil lines.

Now I cut a peace of watercolor card stock 14,5x14,5cm (approximately 5 3/4"x5 3/4") and measured out the die cut area on my card base. I chose my Distress Paints and Inks to create a background. My first layer I made with the same stencil (Lace) as the die from the card base. I applied Versamark through the stencil and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Using my craft sheet I made the second layer using the paint, spraying it with water and then dragging my paper through the paint. When I was happy with that I filled in the blank spaces using the Inks and my blending tool. To finish my background I used several stamps and distressed all the paper edges using the blending tool and Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

Below here you see the finished card. The birds and balloon where raised with foam adhesives. Because I used the birds with the hat and bowtie I wasn't able to use the dies so I had to cut them by hand. This makes it extremely difficult to keep the curling tail and feet of the birds intact. To solve this problem I stamped the feet and tail before adhering the birds to the card.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST! I got my Big Shot this Tuesday and made an unboxing video. Love the machine already and very glad I chose the Big Shot instead of another Cuttlebug.
Thank you for all the lovely comments and hope to see you all soon!

Love,
Sharon.

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

thank you for visiting my brand new blog!
I decided to make a blog because I'd like to share my techniques and projects with everyone.
I'm creative in many ways: card making, scrapping, jewelry making, painting furniture, singing and acting. In this blog I mostly will focus on card making and scrapping and maybe once in a while a blog about jewelry and painting furniture.
The supplies I use are the products that I like best, I don't work/create for a specific company.
Products you'll see me using: magnolia stamps, stampers anonymous, sizzix dies and big shot machine, distress ink, distress markers, distress paint, copic markers, cricut and lots of other Ranger/Tim Holtz products.

In daily life I'm 28, married to my loving husband Carlo, have the sweetest dog named Choice and work as a nurse.
I've been creative since I can remember, so I started out very young and tried many things.
My blogs will be in English because I want them to be available and understandable for everyone, but I'm Dutch. My apologies in advance for any language- or writing mistakes. ;-)
Hope you'll visit my blog again when I have posted a card/project that I made.

Kind regards,
Sharon.
